Sweat Like You Mean It

Hey ya'll,

Damn, its been a while since I've last communicated with all of you, but I have to say - you all are looking pretty sexy ;)

Anyways, it seems like everyone who's anyone has been hyping up the critically acclaimed 'SWEATBOX'. So I thought I'd take a stab at it! Well, I am just gonna start of with the fact that we have a pretty amazing team here throwing this outragous dance party, so I wouldn't expect anything but an outrageously good time. We also plan on turning the Lib (lingo I just learned for the Liberty Lounge) into an actual sweatbox. In closing, I would say that if you like dancing, art, and/or amazing people, you should just show up!

Saturday, Jan 17th - Teaser

Hey all,

I hope you are booking this Saturday the 17th and the first few hours of the 18th off in your calendars, because Sweat Box is making its debut that night at the Liberty Lounge at Mount Royal College through the hard work of myself, my DJ partner Alex, his younger DJ brother Andrew, graffiti artists Dillon and Levi, dancers/party enthusiasts Neil and Jacob and many others.

As a taste of what's to come, here's a mix I concocted to be performed as the first half hour of the event, when the doors open at 9pm. It's going to be my hip hop set to kick off the mood for the night. If you know either Alex or me, or have been to any of our past events, you know to also expect:

- House
- Breakbeats
- Electro
- Fidget / Wobble house (our favourite!)

Or if you don't speak electronic music,

Please pack extra brains for that night because there is a definite chance they will be blown.

Hip Hop set - Night Panda (320kbps)

New event: Sweat Box

Hello everybody,

It's time to update you all with the what's what of your favourite musical duo, Night Panda:

- I sold my turntables and am learning to play the drums
- Alex is learning turntablism and scratching
- Andrew (Alex's brother) switched to using Abelton and a MIDI controller to DJ
- Still no music made...yet...sorry...
- I got an A- in C++ programming!

Now that that's over with, here's the rub on a special night which Alex, his younger brother Andrew, and I are throwing in a week's time on Saturday, January 17th: It's called "Sweat Box" and it's going to be a night of electronic music, dancing, and art.

Sharing the stage with us that night will be native Calgarian graffiti artists Dillon and his friend Levi, who will be doing live art while the night flows and then auctioning it off near the end. And trust me, when I say that the individual(s) lucky enough to get his or her hands on their work will be the envy of the night, I mean it.

Unchanged from previous Night Panda hosted events: A festival of sights and sounds, ostentatious costumes for Alex and I, and 'splode-your-mind electronic music. Bring your dancing shoes!
